Are there things that you’ve come to appreciate more than ever as life as we know it has come to a standstill? My name is Dyllon Ryan and I’m the director of client services here at ADvine.
As an avid sports fan, I miss sports IMMENSELY. From the NC Double A Tournament, to the start of baseball season, and especially the NBA Playoffs, I realize how much I took it for granted. I know I’m not the only one in this boat, because the NFL Draft received a thirty-seven percent increase in viewership from last year to this year. Aside from missing out on sports,
I’ve noticed how much I take the technology in our world for granted. What would a stay at home order look like without Netflix, Hulu or other streaming services? How about food delivery services like GrubHub or Postmates. Heck, could you imagine being at home without an internet connection?
I know that in my house alone, the number of amazon boxes arriving on our doorstep has certainly increased, and I can’t help but wonder how these changes that we’re being forced to make will stick around in some capacity. For example, what percentage of the population were hopping on zoom calls prior to all of this.
At this point local businesses, and even basic interaction with family and friends around the country, have switched to these virtual meetings. Personally, I’m on a zoom call a minimum of 3 times a week and before mid-March I had never been on one. It’s efficient, easy, and you can pretty much hop on from anywhere. I think that in a time where it’s so easy to be down and negative about our world’s current circumstances, take a second and appreciate the technology that’s available. Without it, we would all be losing our minds.
Thanks for tuning in!
